成長性衰退（growth recession）

諾貝爾經濟學獎得主保羅．克魯曼（Paul Krugman）寫的《面對失靈的年代：克魯曼談金融海嘯》（The Return of Depression Economics and the Crisis of 2008）一書做了如下的解釋：

A growth recession is what happens when an economy grows but this growth isn’t fast enough to keep up with the economy’s expanding capacity, so that more and more machines and workers stand idle.

成長性蕭條（growth depression）是比成長性衰退還要嚴重的現象。
