支付竹槓（greenmail）

羅伯‧史雷特（Robert Slater）在Soros: The Life, Ideas, and Impact of the World's Most Influential Investor一書指出：「支付竹槓是反併購的一種手段，指目標公司以高於其他股東所能買到的價格，購買企業狙擊者的股票；換言之，敲竹槓是付給狙擊者的溢價，希望他或她收手，結束併購的企圖。」（Greenmail is an antitakeover maneuver in which the target firm purchases the corporate raider’s stock at a price above that available to other shareholders; in other words, greenmail is a premium paid to a raider to get him or her to terminate a takeover attempt.）
